Know the device before you unlock it
Rooting can open deep customization and system-level tools, but the exact process changes by manufacturer, carrier, model, and firmware build. Start by identifying all four before downloading anything.
Unlocking a bootloader commonly erases the device, may affect warranty or security features, and can make banking or media apps behave differently. Keep a verified backup and the correct factory image close by.
DroidPirate rule: Never flash an image built for a different model or firmware revision. When in doubt, stop and verify.
