Who can enter, and what be the prize?
Open to U.S. residents in the 50 states and Washington, D.C., age 18 or older. No purchase necessary. One free verified entry per email address per monthly draw. One winner chooses one available DroidPirate T-shirt and an available size; U.S. shipping is included. Current approximate shirt retail value: $29. No cash alternative. When does the captain choose?
Entries close at noon America/New_York time on the last calendar day of each month. Entries verified after the cutoff must join the next month’s draw. Each eligible verified entry has the same chance; odds depend on the number of entries. The automated draw runs on that final day. A service outage can delay publication; the locked entry list and original cutoff remain unchanged. With no verified entries, no prize is drawn that month. Winners receive an email and reply with their T-shirt and size choice. Enter afresh each month to sail again.
What happens to me details?
Your first name is public in the journal and, if selected, the winner announcement. Your full name, email and mailing address are visible only to authorized DroidPirate administrators for running the giveaway and shipping the prize. Verification codes expire after 10 minutes. Pending signup details are kept for up to 24 hours after code expiry so you can return in the same browser and request a replacement, then cleared by maintenance. A browser cookie remembers your pending signup; it does not sign you in. Non-winning addresses and email details are removed 90 days after the draw; winner records are retained for fulfillment. Verifying this form also registers a DroidPirate site account for new members using the username and password they choose. Existing accounts are reused without changing their password. Your verified name and shipping details are also saved in your private member profile. Member account and profile records remain until account deletion and are separate from the giveaway’s 90-day shipping-data cleanup. A separate welcome email includes sign-in and profile links.
